The Fairfax neighborhood is a large, culturally diverse community that boasts the following strengths:
|
![]() Welcome to Fairfax |
| Fairfax is home to three
nationally recognized institutions. The foremost of
these is The Cleveland Clinic Foundation, established in 1921,
which now ranks as Cuyahoga County’s
largest private employer. |

Finally, Karamu House (pictured on the right) is an inter-racial theater and arts center which dates from 1917 (and has been located at its present site since 1949). |
|
The
continuing expansion of The Cleveland Clinic Foundation, the
construction and opening of the InterContinental Hotel and Conference
Center Cleveland, the rehabilitation of the Health Museum (the
country’s oldest museum devoted to health
education and information - now HealthSpace Cleveland), and the
completion of the Church Square shopping center (along the neighborhood’s
northern border) are factors which are now strengthening the
market for private development in Fairfax. |
