The Louis Stokes Visionary Award
      is presented annually to individuals who:

Demonstrate an ability to provide leadership and vision which promotes community development and strong community life; Demonstrate a lifelong personal and professional commitment to improve the quality of life for those who reside and work in communities such as Fairfax; Demonstrate a proven track record in working collaboratively with residents and other stakeholders to build partnerships; and Promote the initiatives of urban communities such as Fairfax to a broader constituency.
