Langston Hughes Center

The facility, a former Andrew Carnegie Library dedicated on February 2009 and located on the northwest corner of East 79th and Quincy Avenue in the Fairfax community, completes a critical corner of a larger development initiative. The Center is home to Senior Outreach Services, a neighborhood nonprofit providing services to area seniors as well as the Cleveland Clinic’s Community Health Outreach Center (CCCHOC). The CCCHOC provides health screenings and health education services to residents at no cost and is open five days per week. The $5 million project included the renovation of the library building and .a .14,000 square foot addition which houses a commercial kitchen and the health center. The project is expected to be LEED certified at the Silver level.

The Langston Hughes Center returns a historically significant neighborhood gem to productive use and was made possible through the support of 27 foundations, corporations and government entities and 111 individuals.
